This journey began as the result of a Christmas present given to Bill from Jen in 2012. A new Masterbuilt gas smoker. Blame it all on TV and the series BBQ Pitmasters; a show we would watch together. My thinking out-loud and enjoyment of cooking lead her to surprise me, little did she realize the path she put us on that Christmas morning, and the surprise has been on her, ever since!
2018 We have a full schedule of 14+ competitions
2017 6 events this season due to family priorities. 2 top 10 finishes, while we felt we took a small step backwards with an average KCBS
score of 658.5961
2016 To date we have competed in 12 events having 7 top ten finishes; 23 total calls/walks; 5 in Chicken (1st place Que for Troops); 7 in Ribs; 6 in Pork; and 5 in Brisket (1st place Smoke in the Valley). Current KCBS avg score 665.1734
2015 We took "The Class" and entry into TDS. We competed in 8 events having 1 top ten finish; 7 total calls/walks; 3 in Chicken (1st place Que for Troops); 2 in Ribs (2nd place Smoke in the Park - Lemoyne, PA); 1 in Pork; and 1 in Brisket. But more importantly and more rewarding are the friendships and memories made with our fellow competitors. KCBS avg score 648.8887 2014 Saw the birth of Smokin' Foolz as we joined both the MABA and KCBS. Started season cooking on TS 120P, however, immediately switched to a 270 smoker after the Go Naked Ironman, (thanks to Bill Allen "Hollywood n' Swine" best salesman ever). We competed in 4 competitions that first year. 1 MABA event and 3 KCBS events. We ended the year without any calls or walks. Two BBQ classes were taken (DivaQ) prior to and (3Eyz) during the season which did help us greatly. The information learned was very good stuff, just not properly executed by us. KCBS avg score 613.3791 2013 Our 1st competition (non-sanctioned) was local put on by a fire company - Piggy in the Park - Lemoyne, PA. Cooked on a Meadowcreek TS 120P, we were hooked.
Our dream, like many other teams, is to qualify and compete at "Jack Daniel's World Championship Invitational Barbecue".
